If you’ve been watching the news recently, it can sometimes feel like there’s a lot of doom and gloom around.
That’s why we wanted to share a bit of good news.
March has officially become the biggest month we have ever had on the Thomas Cookie Co website.
The biggest month. Ever.
And that is entirely down to you.
Every order, every message, every share on social media, every recommendation to a friend, every time you’ve chosen our cookies over a supermarket dessert or supported our little family business instead of a huge company… it all adds up.
This month, it added up to something pretty special.
A Family-Run Bakery Surviving the Easter Rush
Easter is always one of the busiest times of the year for us.
For weeks, the bakery becomes a blur of Belgian chocolate, cookie dough, brownie batter, stuffed cookie cups and endless parcels heading all over the UK.
This year was no different.
We spent the Easter weekend down at Broadstairs, one of our favourite events of the year. It was busy, chaotic, exhausting and brilliant all at the same time. The queues were huge, the days were long and by the end of it we were running on sugar, adrenaline and very little sleep.
As I’m writing this, we’re actually sat at my parents’ house with the kids, finally having our own Easter a few days after everyone else.
That’s the reality of running a family business.
When everyone else is relaxing over the bank holiday weekend, we’re usually in the bakery, loading vans, packing orders, working events and trying to keep up with the madness.
But we wouldn’t change it.
Because we genuinely love it.
I actually thrive on the long hours, the pressure and the stress. There’s something exciting about those huge weeks where everything feels slightly out of control and somehow comes together at the last minute.
After Broadstairs and Easter Orders, What Happens Next?
I have to admit though… I’m genuinely relieved Easter is over.
Not because I didn’t enjoy it.
But because there are so many things we’ve been desperate to work on that have all been sitting on hold while we got through the Easter rush.
For months we’ve had notebooks full of ideas, lists on our phones and plans we’ve been talking about late at night after the kids have gone to bed.
We’ve been wanting to:
- Launch new cookie flavours and limited editions
- Improve the website and make it easier to order
- Bring back and improve subscriptions
- Work on new corporate gifting ideas
- Create more behind-the-scenes content
- Develop more products for events and festivals
- Improve our packaging
- Start work on some exciting new ideas we haven’t told anyone about yet
Easter had to come first.
But now that we’ve made it through, we can finally start moving.
Why More People Are Choosing Gourmet Cookies Delivered By Post
Of course, seeing record sales is amazing.
But for us, it means more than just numbers.
It means proof that all the late nights, the stress, the risk, the early mornings, the market days, the festivals, the social media posts, the family sacrifices and the endless hard work are actually building something.
Thomas Cookie Co started with a simple idea: make really good cookies with proper ingredients.
Real butter from grass-fed cows. Organic flour. Fresh local free-range eggs. Proper Belgian chocolate.
No cutting corners. No cheap substitutes.
Just doing things properly.
To know that more and more people appreciate that means everything.
What’s Next For Thomas Cookie Co in 2026?
Honestly?
This feels like the start of something.
We’ve got so many plans for the rest of 2026 and we can’t wait to start sharing them with you.
There will be new products, new ideas, more events, more exciting things online and hopefully even more ways for you to enjoy Thomas Cookie Co.
So if you’ve supported us already, thank you.
And if you’re new here, welcome.
Watch this space.
The best is still to come.
Thomas
Life’s short, make it sweet.
